The LearningSpace spring release 2013 added the benefits of Resource Manager. This addition made it possible to collect usage data for resources that are maintained in the LearningSpace system.
The Resource Manager was an important addition to LearningSpace as centers face many financing and simulation utilization questions. This data collection allowed simulation staff and administration an effective method to collect data on rooms, simulators, SPs, stations, cameras and other defined items.
With the Spring 2015 release the LearningSpace team slightly modified the output method for the resource manager data with improvements in the export capabilities of the captured data. The new features allow for exporting data to excel or other database programs to produce powerful reports and compare statistics.
LearningSpace provides some built-in viewing of usage, utilization and allocation data which is in its own right a great resource to gather snap shots of the usage statistics that are collected within LearningSpace.
The new spring 2015 release added the availability to export to excel with client name, event name, start and stop date and time and total minutes of usage.
When this data is imported into excel or a database it allows for the creation of in-depth charts and graphs for visual representations of usage data.
This article will be updated with how to best accomplish data collection in resource manager.
